Two suspected gays arrested for allegedly having anal sex in a classroom at Amasaman in the Greater Accra Region, have been remanded into police custody by the Amasaman district magistrate court.
Benjamin Ashitey, 23 and Gideon Kporzu, 26, charged for having unnatural canal knowledge, were arraigned before Victoria Ghansah last Thursday.
Their pleas were not taken and were remanded to reappear on September 23, 2015, to enable the police to complete their investigations.
Eyewitness accounts indicated that the two accused homosexuals were in one of the classrooms of the Amasaman Cluster of Schools having sex when the security man on duty spotted them.
The eyewitness said the security man (name withheld) heard someone moaning in the classroom which was very dark and decided to find out what was happening.
When he got to the room and switched on his torchlight, he spotted the two men in the act.
They then ran out of the classroom partially naked and attempted to escape but the security man called for help, leading to their arrest by some residents, according to the observer.
With the help of two Fire Service personnel, they were handed over to the Amasaman police.
ASP Sebastian Adigiya, Amasaman District Crime Officer, told DAILY GUIDE that the men had been put into safe custody as the matter was still being investigated.
