A Dormaa-Ahenkro Circuit Court has remanded a 27-year-old unemployed Eric Frimpong into police custody for allegedly stealing GHC2, 400 from a shop at Wamfie.
He pleaded not guilty and would re-appear on Monday January 21.
Police Chief Inspector Bismarck Boye Lartey, prosecuting told the court presided over by Mr Alexander Osei Tutu that on the night of December 29 last year while the shop owner was conversing with some friends outside the shop the accused entered and stole a bag containing the money.
He said the accused was spotted but managed to run away but was arrested the following day by the Wamfie Neighourhood Watchdog Committee at the Wamfie public cemetery and sent to the police station
