Apam Wee2 The suspects & the Kia truck loaded with 'wee'

The Apam District Police Command has arrested a 29-year-old Kia truck driver, Kofi Gyamfi and Isaac Amanor, 25, for allegedly attempting to transport substances believed to be Indian hemp popularly known as Wee to Ivory Coast.

The suspects are currently in the custody of the police assisting in investigations.

Briefing DAILY GUIDE on Wednesday, the Central Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Sgt Raymond Asaaba said police had the information on Sunday at Gomoa Hwida, a suburb of Gomoa Dawurampong that some person were conveying 30 bags each containing 75 parcels of the substance in a Kia Truck with registration number GT 8346 X.

Sgt Asaaba said they laid ambush and intercepted the vehicle, adding that the suspects had concealed the substances under sachet water in the KIA truck.

He added that the suspects transported the parcels from Amasaman to Gomoa Dago.

The Police PRO disclosed that Amanor claimed the substances were to be transported to Cote d I’voire through Gomoa Dago, adding that plans were underway to arraign the suspects before the court.
