Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/A) July 27, GNA - Four suspected armed robbers on Monday attacked Agapet filling station located at the outskirts of Dormaa-Ahenkro and took away GH¢C 4,000 and three mobile phones belonging to the staff.

Narrating the incident to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Dormaa-Ahenkro, a pump attendant Mr. Ben Ababio said one masked-man and three others arrived at the station at 0100 hours and ordered the security men to lie down.

He said the robbers then entered the main hall where the pump attendants were sleeping and ordered them at gun point to surrender their mobile phones and all monies on them or have their heads blown off.

Mr. Ababio said the robbers who took the proceeds from the weekend fuel sales broke into the manager's office but were unable to get access to the two vaults

"Out of apparent anger and frustration the robbers destroyed the drawers to the manager's writing desk and took a sizeable amount of money", Mr. Ababio added. Mr. Ababio said the robbers then escorted the attendants and security men at gun point into a small room, locked them up and fled into the bush.

He said they reported the robbery to the Dormaa police around 0400 hours and the police had been to the scene. When contacted, Police Chief Inspector Matthew Yeboah of the charge office confirmed the robbery and said police had begun investigations to apprehend the robbers.
