Armed robbers gun down two brothers, one feared dead

Armed robbers on Monday evening shot two brothers, killed one, sustained the other at Wassa Akatrika in the Amenfi East Municipality of the Western Region.

Yaw Gyamfi, 37, a father of three, his brother Yaw Appiah, 35 were gunned down by the robbers when attempted to rob Chinese nationals doing illegal mining at Akatrika forest.

According to Yaw Appiah, who managed to escape, they were coming from the farm around 6:30 pm on a motorbike came across them.

"Unfortunately, they stopped us, my brother decided to run away then open fire with AK47, jackknife, rope and machete. I heard them saying "my, my". They were four (4) and two (2) struggling with each, tied by elder brother", he narrated.

He added "They overheard loud noise which prevented them to run away. I managed to go to the community, which residents came and sent my brother, Yaw Gyamfi to Amenase clinic where he met his untimely death".

Sefwi Bekwai District Police Command are on a manhunt for these robbers.
