Assembly man wanted for attempted murder

Police personnel have launched a massive manhunt for the Assembly Member for Bayerebon-Number-Three in the Atwima-Mponua District in the Ashanti region for alleged attempted murder of his estranged wife.

Alex Konadu is said to have chased the woman, Florence Opokuaa, 33, to the farm, hit her several times with a club as she dropped on the ground unconscious.

Taking her for dead, he fled.

She was rushed to the Nyinahin Government Hospital by farmers who saw her and rushed her to the Accident and Emergency Unit of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where she was kept on admission for three days.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Ernest Fosu, Nyinahin Police Commander, confirmed the incident to the Ghana News Agency and said it happened around 1130 hours on February 3.

He vowed to do everything to arrest and bring the fugitive Assembly Member to justice.
