Attackers on Pokuase Chief arraigned

Accra, June 10, GNA - The Police on Thursday arraigned five persons they arrested for attacking the house of the Chief of Pokuase and were remanded into prison custody to reappear on June 27. Their pleas were not taken.

Police sources told the Ghana News Agency that two suspects arrested earlier led the Police to arrest of the five, suspects who allegedly carried out the attacks which resulted in the death of Emmanuel Adokwei, a 14-year old student and the injuring of one Bright Bebli and Victoria Anyele Sowah.

The source said the suspects; Nii Offei Dodoo, Klue Badu, Enoch Kwarteng alias Attah, Atsu Kwesi and Abdul Razak were all arrested at Nsawam where they had taken refuge after the incident. The source said the suspects, who were all residents of Pokuase, were not on good terms with the Chief of Pokuase Nii Otoo Kwame and had allegedly sworn to eliminate him.

The source said at about 1500 hours last Monday, the suspects allegedly stormed the house of Nii Kwame and in his absence attacked the three victims, who were in the house.
