Boy, 4, accidentally shoots and kills his 6-year old brother at Somanya

A six year old child has died after his brother shot him in the head at Somanya in the Eastern Region on Thursday.

The deceased, Alex Ologo Amanor and his brother were said to be playing in their grandfather's room while their parents were away.

The suspect, Jerry Akuffo, 4 years, reportedly took his grandfather's single barrel gun, that was allegedly hidden in the room and shot his brother.

The tragic incident occurred at 2:30pm this afternoon.

Tenants who were present say they heard the gunshot and rushed out, only to find the deceased in a pool of blood.

A search around the room revealed that the gun was shot at about 3 meters range.

Deceased was shot in his head bringing his skull content out.

The minor and his grandfather are currently assisting the police with investigation.

The body of the deceased has been taken to Atua Hospital.
