Takoradi, Oct. 12, GNA - A Takoradi circuit court on Monday sentenced Adwoba Aku Kolorah, a 30-year-old trader and Simon Kolorah, 20-year-old galamsey operator to nine months imprisonment in hard labour each for conspiring to steal a nine-year-old boy.
They pleaded guilty to the charge.
Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Joe Hedidor, said the accused persons who are brother and sister lived in the same house with the complainant, Mercy Amihere at Teleku-Bokazo near Nkroful.
He said on September 28, this year, Adwoba travelled to Essiama and on her return told Simon that he met a man called Mr. B.B. who was looking for a human being to buy.
Chief Inspector Hedidor said Adwoba and Simon conspired to steal Isaac Essuman, a nine-year-old son of Amihere and sell him to the man. He said three days later, Simon asked Essuman to accompany him to Nkroful and took him to Ezinibo near Tikobo Number One on a taxi chartered by Adwoba with the intention of selling him to Mr. B.B. Chief Inspector Hedidor said Mr. B.B. had a tip-off that Adwoba and Simon were bringing the boy to him to buy and alerted the police who arrested them and after investigation charged them with the offence.
