Mr Houssien Al Moussawi, Managing Director of the African Pro Limited, distributors of used clothing in Africa has supported the Ghana Police Service with a Police Post at North Kaneshie in Accra.

This station would provide the area with effective policing, security and the fight against crimes.

Mr Al Moussawi in an interview with the Ghana News Agency said the incidence of robberies in recent times shows that criminals are becoming more sophisticated, hence the provision of a Police Post in the community.

“It has been our commitment to help fight crimes as part of our social responsibilities to society to ensure that the people live in peace and harmony,” he said.

He said hardly a day passes without a complaint of robbery in the area, adding that, the criminals usually wield guns, cutlasses, and other life threatening implements when arrested.

Mr Theophilus Katei Okunor, the Assemblyman for Mukose Electoral Area at North Kaneshie said since he assumed office, the provision of Police visibility post in the area had been critical in his scheme of affairs to ensure that the people are freed from criminals.

He appealed to the Police to go after the criminals in their hideouts at North Fadama and asked the public to volunteer information on the suspected miscreants.

Chief Superintendent Fleance Adikah, Kaneshie Police Commander said: “The modern way of policing is to build partnership with communities to enable them to support the Police in the fight against crime in the society.”

He suggested the formation of a neighbourhood watch committee to send signals to criminals in the area, adding that, partnership and cooperation between the Police and community members would contribute to successful security operations.
