Three suspected criminals believed to be linked to a number of car robbery cases in the Ashanti have been arrested and are being held by the police.
They are Stephen Addae, 27, security man, Gideon Adatora, 22, and Anthony Gyamfi, both unemployed.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Kofi Boakye, the Regional Commander, told a news briefing in Kumasi that 10 cars stolen from their owners by the suspects have been recovered.
He said the suspects normally engage the services of taxi drivers and midway through the journey pull guns on them and snatch their cars.
He said after forcibly seizing the cars, they would drive to Asante-Bekwai, where the colour would be changed and then to Diaso near Dunkwa-On-Offin, in the Central Region, to sell them.
The three have confessed to the crime and would be soon be arraigned.
Their other accomplice, Ali Suleimana, alias “Sulley”, is on the run and the police have mounted a search to arrest and bring him to justice.
