Ernest Kushiakor, 20, a car washer, is in the grips of the Aflao Police for defiling and infecting a police man’s eight-year old daughter with gonorrhea.
Mr Daniel Dzam-Tse, Aflao District Police Crime Officer told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Friday that the victim’s father is a client of a washing bay at Aflao, where Kushiakor works.
He said overtime, the police officer gained confidence in the suspect and would invite him to his house to wash his car. With time, Kushiakor became a virtual member of the officer’s family, enjoying freebies in kind and cash.
Mr Dzam-Tse said on March 3, this year, the officer returned from a night duty and called Kushiakor to his quarters near the Denu market to wash his car as had been the practice for some time.
He said the officer slept and Kushiakor took the victim and her 5-year old brother out to his (Kushiakor) house, less than a kilometer away.
Mr Dzam-Tse said while there, Kushiakor sent the young boy on an errand and moved to defile his sister and warned her not to tell anybody.
The District Crime Officer said on March 7, this year, the victim’s mother saw crusty milky-like stains on the underwear of the victim.
He said upon interrogation, she revealed what happened to her and Kushiakor was arrested.
Mr Dzam-Tse said the victim was taken to the Ketu-South District Hospital at Aflao for examination, which confirmed she had been defiled and infected with gonorrhea.
The distraught father of the victim told the GNA that only two weeks ago he supported Kushiakor to seek treatment at a clinic in the area when he (Kushiakor) confided in him that he had contracted gonorrhea after sleeping with a woman from a village nearby.
