Cape Coast, July 27, GNA- A circuit court in Cape on Wednesday granted 10 million cedis bail with surety to be justified to Kofi Atta, a 32-year-old carpenter for biting off the finger of Abraham Tetteh. Atta, who pleaded not guilty, would reappear on August 17. Police Chief Inspector Hope Azasoo, told the court presided over by Mr Mustapha Logoh that Atta and Mr Tetteh live at Adisadel, a suburb of Cape Coast.
The prosecutor said early this month, Tetteh engaged Atta to make a wardrobe for him. Chief Insp. Azasoo said Atta charged 100,000 cedis for the work, which Tetteh paid to the suspect.
He said Atta abandoned his tools box at the house of Tetteh and was not seen again until July 19 when he went back to collect the box. The prosecutor said Tetteh asked Atta to return the money he took before the tools box would be released to him but Atta tried to force his way into the room of Tetteh to take the box. Chief Insp Azasoo said this resulted in a scuffle between the two men and in the process, Atta bit off Tetteh's finger.
