A 52-year-old cleaner at Yamoransah in the Central Region was on Wednesday granted bail in the sum of GH¢ 12, 000.00 with two sureties to be justified by a Cape Coast Circuit Court for allegedly stealing items worth GH¢ 12,150.00 belonging to a businessman in Takoradi.
Elizabeth Ekua Aboagyewaa was arrested for allegedly stealing two fridges, 25 mobile phones, seven mattresses and two lap top computers.
Other items stolen were seven car control boards, two flat screen television sets, 15 containers of liquid soap and 30 lady’s bags.
Aboagyewaa pleaded not guilty to the charge and would re-appear on February 25.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Okyere Andam told the court presided over by Ms. Sedina Agbemava that the complainant, Mr. Fuseni Issah, was an importer and a resided at Effiakuma in Takoradi and the accused was a cleaner resident at Yamoransah near Cape Coast.
He said both Aboagyewaa and Mr. Fuseni were living in Italy and were set to come to Ghana for holidays in June last year and both made a joint container.
ASP Okyere told the court that the container was to be discharged at the Takoradi Port but was cleared at the Tema Port by Aboagyewaa without the knowledge of Mr. Fuseni.
Mr. Fuseni detected that the items were missing
