A couple resident at Anumle, a settlement near Achimota Senior High School, is in the grips of the Achimota School Police for sacrificing their two months old baby allegedly for ritual purposes.
The man known as Yaw Grushie, a labourer at Achimota School and his wife are accused of severing the head of their baby in exchange for an amount of ten thousand (GHC 10,000), of which an initial two thousand (GHC 2,000) is said to have been paid them.
Kasapafmonline.com’s impeccable sources at the Achimota School Police say the couple has admitted to carrying out the heinous crime on their innocent baby.
Whoever contracted them, is yet to be established by the police as investigation is underway. A frantic search is on to locate the severed head of the baby which still remains missing.
The police have vowed to arraign before court, anyone found to have played a role in the case.
The crime was exposed after a young lady reportedly found the torso of the baby in a bush near a rubbish dump when she went to dump rubbish. She immediately raised alarm drawing scores of residents to go to the scene to have a glimpse of the utterly evil crime that had been committed.
The whole vicinity has been thrown into a state of shock wondering who was responsible for the horrific act with several people suspecting the baby had been murdered for money rituals (Sakawa).
Investigations have established that Anumle, and its surrounding areas namely Christian Village and Kisseman are lately becoming home to young guys who dabble in money rituals (Sakawa).
A middle aged man who spoke to this news outlet on strict condition of anonymity, lamented the proclivity of the youth in the area to engage in all sorts of rituals to make quick money.
“This area until recently never experienced our youth craving for such quick money. They have allowed themselves to be influenced by our West African neighbours who are residing among us most of whom are deep into such awful lifestyles.
Most of the young guys, several of whom are school drop outs are now competing among themselves as to who drives the best cars and you wonder where they get their monies as they do not work. You see them in groups whiling away the time, the next day you see them driving fantastic cars. I wish the police could soon conduct a swoop in the area soon to arrest they guys who do not want to reap before they sow but are always looking for ‘short cut’ in life,” he added.
