They were identified as Samuel Osei 24 and Evelyn Yawson, 32, residents of Tema Newtown.

Samuel and Evelyn, together with two other suspects currently at large, were said to have robbed the naval officer at knife point and made away with his wallet containing unspecified amount of money, ID cards, ATM cards as well as cell phone estimated at GHC540.

According to him, the naval officer went to visit a friend and upon his return, was approached by Evelyn who claimed to know him somewhere.

While Evelyn was trying to recollect where she knew the victim, ASP Yakah indicated that two other suspects appeared behind her and asked him to surrender his belongings. Evelyn was said to have disappeared from the scene.

The police officer stated the victim resisted and a misunderstanding ensued among them which led to the struggle.

Two other persons, according to ASP Yakah, came to join the suspects to overpower the victim who was threatened to surrender else he would be stabbed with a knife.

Out of fear, the victim quickly gave up and surrendered to them the items stated above.

The crime officer pointed out that the suspect went to report the matter to the deputy police officer (DPO) at the naval command who mobilized some young men at the training camp to comb the area to arrest the suspects.

He further stated that some days later, Samuel was also arrested in a ghetto upon information.

ASP Yakah mentioned that some of the items taken from the victim had been retrieved and that the suspects would be processed for court after investigations.
