Malik Amadu, a 24-year-old welder, on Friday appeared before Takoradi Circuit Court “B” for allegedly conspiring to commit crime, causing unlawful damage, unlawful entry and stealing.

He pleaded not guilty and the court granted him bail in the sum of GH¢5,000 to re-appear on December 28.

Sully and Dadee who are jointly charged with him are on the run. The two accomplices have been on the Police wanted lists for some time for committing series of crimes in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis.

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Felix Danku, said about 2200 hours on November 11, the complainant Michael Nyarko and Nuhu Abdulai, his younger brother, went to bed after locking the door of their house. He said Abdulai who was sleeping in the hall heard unusual noise in the room, compelling him to wake up.

Chief Inspector Danku said Abdulai spotted the accused, raised the alarm and he and the complainant gave Amadu a hot chase, but he managed to escape.

He said the complainant and Abdulai returned home and detected that a HP laptop computer, five mobile phones, one pen drive, one modem, a jeans trousers and a cash of GH¢1,500 had been stolen.

He said the complainant and Abdulai decided to comb the vicinity for those who stole the items. Chief Inspector Danku said while doing so, they met the accused and Sulley who asked them why they were not in bed.

He said the complainant and Abdulai told them they were looking for the persons who had stolen their items. Chief Inspector Danu said the accused asked the complainant to give him some money in return for the stolen items.

He said Sulley sensing danger disagreed with the accused and the two bolted.

Chief Inspector Danku said an informant who does not want his identity to be disclosed told the complainant that he saw the accused, Sulley and Dadee committing the offence but due to fear, he did not raise the alarm.

The complainant reported the matter to the Police and November 24, the accused committed a similar offence and was arrested and detained.

Chief Inspector said the complainant and his brother identified him as the person they chased and after further investigations, he was charged while efforts are being made to arrest his accomplices.
