Tema, July 24, GNA - The Tema Circuit Court 'A', has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of a trader who allegedly stole four tyres valued at 9.8 million cedis.

Hadi Adain is facing a charge of stealing lorry tyres, the property of Kwaku Gyamfi.

Inspector Adolphus Otchere, prosecuting, told the court presided over by Mr Charles Asiedu that during the first week of June 2004, four heavy-duty lorry tyres belonging to a transporter were removed from one of his trucks.

He said the tyres, which were removed with the reams were given to a mate to be sent to a nearby vulcanising shop in the Tema industrial area for repairs.

Instead, the drive's mate sent them to an unknown place. The four reams excluding the tyres were seen displayed for sale at the Neoplan Lorry Park, Accra by the accused person, the prosecution said.

Inspector Otchere said when the accused was confronted, he could not disclosed his source of supply, and was arrested, adding during investigations he refunded four million cedis out of the 9.8 million cedis being the cost of the tyres.
