The court presided over by Ms Janet Awo Bakudie, entered a judgment of default against Agbelie and awarded a cost of 200 Ghana cedis against him. The Court was hearing a writ of summons brought by Mr David Gbekle, a mechanic at Hohoe, against Agbelie for failing to refund 3,600 Ghana cedis plus an interest of 1,587 Ghana cedis to him in respect of a botched deal to travel to Germany. Agbelie, assemblyman for Akrofu in the Ho Municipality, has so far refunded 1,000 Ghana cedis of the amount. The Plaintiff said he sold his bus and paid the proceeds in two installments of GHC 2,000 and GHC 1,600 to Agbelie but the German Embassy rejected his visa application together with those of others for whom Agbelie was acting as an agent. Mr Gbekle said he declined Agbelie's offer to secure another deal for him to go to Singapore instead of Germany and demanded a refund of his money.
