An Accra Circuit Court has sentenced Kwaku Sule, Mason, to two-year imprisonment for causing harm.
He was convicted on his own plea.
Chief Inspector Judiok Michaels told the court presided over by Mrs Patricia Quansah that the complainant in the case was a trader and the girlfriend of the convict.
He said according to the complainant, for some time now, the accused has been putting up strange behaviors and always threatening her, so based on that she stopped the relationship.
He said on December 25, last year, at about 18:30 hours, the complainant was in her house at Anyaa, when the accused person came with a sharp knife, asking why she was not picking his calls.
The prosecutor said in the cause of the argument, the complainant asked the accused not to call her again, since she has decided to stop the relationship.
Chief Inspector Michaels said the accused person, who became offended, rushed on her and stabbed the complainant in the stomach and took to his heels but was arrested when the complainant managed to raise the alarm.
He said the complainant was later rushed to the hospital where she was admitted and was receiving treatment.
Meanwhile, the accused admitted the offence in his caution statement, saying he stabbed the victim because she decided to abruptly end the relationship after all the money he spent on her.
