Bibiani (W/R) June 14, GNA - A Bibiani Circuit Court, presided over by Justice Emmanuel Ankamah, has remanded a 23-year old housewife into prison custody for allegedly stabbing her husband with a pair of scissors.

The plea of Theresa Ackah, alias Adwoa Nkrumah was not taken and would re-appear on Thursday, June 16.

Police Chief Inspector Emma Abotsi told the court that, the accused is married to Akwasi Gyaame, a relationship blessed with a child.

They live together at Sefwi-Nsawora and for some time now the woman has been accusing the husband of cheating on her.

The prosecution said on April 29, the couple went to their farm where Theresa picked a quarrel with Gyaame over his alleged unfaithfulness and threatened to harm him with a cutlass.

At about 0100 hours the next day, the accused woke up her husband from his sleep and demanded from him why he should be keeping a girl-friend. Chief Inspector Abotsi said Gyaame denied the accusation but Theresa who was not convinced held the genitals of the complainant who shouted for help.

The neighbours of the couple forced the door open and as they were struggling to rescue Gyaame, Theresa picked a pair of scissors and stabbed him in the abdomen.

He was rushed to hospital for treatment and a report was made to the police leading to the arrest of the accused.
