A 19-year-old unemployed man has been remanded into prison custody by a Kumasi Circuit Court for allegedly stealing a laptop computer and cellular phone valued at GH¢1,760.00.

Kwabena Agyemang, who denied charges of conspiracy and stealing, would re-appear before court on August 30.

The police are looking for his accomplice, whose name was only given as Frank.

Police Chief Inspector Comfort Baffour-Kyei told the court presided over by Mrs. Justice Emmanuel Amo-Yartey that the complainant, Solomon Duah, is a Project Officer of the Eximguaranty, and resides at the Kwadaso Estate in Kumasi.

The prosecution said on December 12, 2011, Duah woke up and detected that the sliding door to his room, had been opened and his laptop computer, modem and cellular phone stolen.

Chief Insp. Baffour said the complainant received a tip-off that Agyemang stole the items, and reported the matter to the police.

The prosecution said that Agyemang in his caution statement claimed Frank gave the items to him to sell.
