Three men who allegedly defiled a 14 year-old girl on three different occasions have been remanded into prison custody by the Tarkwa circuit court presided over by Mr. Justice Alex Obeng Asante.
The accused, Stephen Quayson, 26,Francis Nkrumah 35, both small scale miners, and Prince Manu, 20, vulcanizer, pleaded not guilty to the charge of defilement.
They will re-appear before the court on August 28.
The Prosecutor, Police Detective Chief Inspector Oscar Amponsah told the court that the complainant is an Information Communication Technology system administrator and a Good Samaritan to the victim and lives at Booboobo, a suburb of Tarkwa.
Chief Inspector Amponsah said on June 29, at about 1900 hours, Quayson, who resides at Bogoso junction saw the victim loitering in the area and asked her to spend the night in his room as it was getting late.
He said the accused took advantage of that and had sex with the victim after which he offered her GH¢10.00 and warned her not to tell anyone.
The Prosecutor added that on July 4, around 0800 hours, the victim and one Enoch went to Manu’s room to watch television and whiles there, the accused sent Enoch to buy him some items.
He said Manu then gave the victim 'Don Simon' drink and after taking it she fell asleep and later woke up to realise that she had been sexually abused.
Chief Inspector Amponsah said when the victim questioned the accused he denied the offence and asked her to keep quiet over that and gave the remaining drink to the victim and she left.
The following day, at about 0800 hours Nkrumah also met the victim at Bogoso junction and asked her to accompany him to his house at Akoon with his belongings.
According to the Prosecutor, on reaching there the accused invited the victim into his room and he also had sex with her, after which he threw out her belongings from the room.
Chief Inspector Amponsah said the victim came back to Bogoso junction and met the complainant and narrated all the incidents to him, he then lodged a complaint with the police and all the accused persons were arrested.
