The Nsawam circuit court on Wednesday remanded one Amadu Humaru and Anthony Avonokadzi for conspiring to commit crime to wit; robbery and are to reappear on 30th January, 2018.

They pleaded not guilty.

Prosecuting Chief Inspector Alex Cosmos told the court presided over by her worship Priscilla Sophia Yeboah that the complainant in the case is a farmer and a resident of La-Mangoase while the accused are a businessman and a farmer residing at Juapong and Somanya respectively.

The prosecution said on the 20th day of December last year the accused and their two accomplices called on one Issaka Yakubu, a Fulani herdsman at La-Mangoase that they wanted to buy bulls, Issaka then called his boss one Samuel Asamoah who is the complainant in the case who directed the accused to visit his farm where they rear the cattle.

The Prosecution said the accused could not afford the price of the bulls and therefore left the farm.

He said however on the 27th day of December, 2017 at 10:30pm, the accused and four others attacked the Issaka and his two wives on the farm beat them mercilessly, tied them, and collected their mobile phones from them.

The prosecuting said the accused then proceeded to catch six of the cattle put them into a vehicle they brought to the farm and fled the area.

The Prosecution said in their bid to catch the cattle Amadu’s Techno mobile phone fell.

The complainant reported the matter to the police for investigation and handed over Amadu’s phone they found on the site as well.

The prosecution said the police contacted the MTN office to find out in whose name the chip was registered and it was disclosed to be in the name of Amadu.

The prosecution said Amadu then went to block the line but was re-issued with another sim card with same number.

The Prosecution said the police then re-established communication with Amadu and later lured him to come to Amasaman to purchase cattle on 31st December last year, when he came he identified himself as Amadu and was arrested together with Anthony for investigations and when Amadu was searched Issaka’s phone was found on him.
