Aflao, Feb. 15, GNA - An Aflao based driver, who failed to control his lust for sex and was found defiling his stepdaughter, in the same bed on which he and his wife were sleeping, has been remanded into prison custody by the Aflao Circuit Court on Tuesday.

Peter Anumu, 30, has his plea not taken.

He is to appear again before the court on March 7, this year. Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Kofi Frimpong told the court presided over by Group Captain Martin Obeng-Ntim (rtd), that Anumu was married to the victim's mother, Amevi Etsey and they live together with the victim in the same apartment at Low Cost, a suburb of Aflao. He said on Monday, February 6, this year, the family decided to sleep outside as a result of the warm weather indoors.

Chief Inspector Frimpong said as Anumu found his wife asleep, he jumped on the 14-year-old girl and started to have intercourse with her but luck ran out for him as his wife suddenly woke up and found him in the act and shouted at him.

He said the victim later revealed to the mother that Anumu began having sex with her since December, last year, the first time being one afternoon when she returned from school and the mother was out. She said he warned her not to reveal it to anyone.

A report on the victim from the Ketu District Hospital confirmed that she was sexually known.
