Asamankese, April 24, GNA - Enoch Badasu 28, a driver's mate has appeared before Asamankese Circuit Court for allegedly defiling his five-year-old step daughter. The court presided over by Mr Kofi Akrowiah entered a plea of not guilty on behalf of Badasu and remanded him in prison custody to re-appear on April 28. Police Chief Inspector Kate Ogyiri, prosecuting, told the court that Badasu lived at Amaako with the victim and her mother and defiled her sometime in September last year. She said the victim became sick when she came to Accra with her mother who later noticed some changes in her movement. The prosecution said the victim was given herbal treatment but her condition became worse and when she was questioned told her mother that she was asleep sometime ago at Amaako when Badasu took advantage of her mother's absence to defile her. She said a report was made to the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit in Accra and a medical form was issued to her for examination and treatment at the Ridge Hospital. The prosecution said the case was later referred to Asamankese Police who arrested Badasu on December 21 last year and after investigations charged with the offence.
