Akyem Swedru (E/R), June 20, GNA - Aboagye Da Costa, an English tutor at Akim Swedru Secondary School (AKISSS), helped by his wife and son, allegedly brutalised Miss Aishetu Adams, a Physical Education instructor of the school on June four this year, resulting in a fracture on her right leg.

Miss Adams, who was hospitalised at the Saint Joseph Hospital in Koforidua, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that ever since she moved to her residence, located near Da Costa's house two years ago, she had known no peace.

According to her, Da Costa sometimes instructed her daughter to sweep rubbish and dump it at her side, but she kept her cool "in the face of all these provocations."

"On some occasions, they will resort to name calling, referring to me as a prostitute and a barren woman and when I complained to the headmaster of the school, he would asked me to ignore them," she said. Miss Adams said at about 0800 hours on June four, this year, she washed her clothes and was drying them when without any provocation, Da Costa began raining insults on her again and that before she could utter a word, his (Da Costa's) son emerged and pushed her down. "Da Costa and his wife, joined by their son, severely assaulted me while lying on the ground," she alleged.

She said she was rescued by sympathisers and later reported the incident to the Akyem Swedru Police.

Miss Adams alleged that the Police refused to act on the case. Assistant Superintendent of police, Sampson Agbeko, the Divisional crime officer confirmed the incident and said the case was under investigation.
