Tepa-Ashanti, Nov. 26, GNA - Tepa Police have arrested Kwame Antobreh 46, a farmer at Agya Awua cottage near Katapei in the Ahafo-Ano North District suspected to have defiled and impregnated his 15-year-old daughter.
Briefing newsmen at Tepa-Ashanti, Police Inspector David Osei Amankwaah said following a tip-off, the suspect was arrested last Thursday, November 23 to assist police investigations.
He said the victim a primary six pupil at Katapei Primary School was withdrawn from school in March 24, this year, by the father on suspicion that she was in a relationship with Joseph Ballah, a Junior Secondary School (JSS) One student of Katapei Junior Secondary School. Police Inspector Amankwaah said Ballah was arrested by the police but after interrogation was released on bail.
In an interview with Miss Cecilia Berkye, mother of the victim, said she divorced the suspect who was her husband about 10 years ago after having five children with him.
She said before the incident, the victim together with the other children were with their father in the cottage attending school at Katapei.
