Farmer fined for causing harm

Nyinahin, (Ash), Oct. 24, GNA - A magistrate's court at Nyinahin presided over by Mr Augustine Essah, has fined a 35-year-old farmer 50 Ghana cedis for assault and causing harm. Baba Nsoh pleaded guilty to the charge and will serve three months in prison with hard labour if he fails to pay the fine. The court also ordered the accused person to pay 30 Ghana cedis as compensation to the complainant, Baba Awudu. Police Inspector James Kwasi Attaglo told the court that both the complainant and the accused stayed at Pakyi-Nkrumah near Adiembra in the Atwima-Mponua District.

He said on October 11, this year the accused person returned from the farm and was informed that the complainant had come to insult him while he was away. Inspector Attaglo said the accused became angry and rushed to the house of the complainant and inflicted knife wounds on him. He said a report was made to the police and the accused was arrested.
