A farmer accused of defiling a minor at Dwease, near Konongo in the Asante-Akim Central Municipality, has been ordered to be held in prison custody by the Juaso Circuit Court.

Eric Bosoka, 37, entered a plea of not guilty and he would make his next appearance on October 6.

Police Detective Inspector Thomas Obuor told the court, presided over by Mr. Fredrick Tetteh that the crime was committed on June 11.

The victim and her younger sister had closed from school and taken their father’s sheep to graze in a bush close to the house of the accused, who incidentally happened to be a family friend.

He said Bosoka invited the victim to his room, requested her to use a cream to massage parts of his body, which she did.

Whilst at it, he asked that she extended the massage to his penis and this the girl flatly refused but the accused would take none of that.

He grabbed her, tied the hands with a rope, gagged and sexually abused her.

The victim’s sister heard her scream and attempted to go to her rescue but was unsuccessful because the door had been locked from inside.

The prosecution said after having satisfied himself, Bosako, gave to her five cedis and warned her never to tell anybody about what she had been through.

The girl would not be frightened by his threats and went straight to report her traumatic experience to the parents and a formal complaint was made to the police.

Bosako on seeing the police, fled but he was tracked down to his hideout after about three months and arrested on September 14.
