Koforidua, April 12, GNA - A Koforidua High Court on Tuesday remanded Kwame Okyere, 46-year-old Farmer of Oforikrom in the Brim South District of Eastern Region, in prison custody for allegedly stabbing Nana Kwadwo Obuba, the Odikro, to death.

Okyere, who allegedly stabbed the Odikro (Chief) with a pair of scissors, pleaded not guilty and would re-appear before the Court on May 3.

Giving the facts of the case, a Senior State Attorney, Mrs Emily Addo-Kyere, told the Court, presided over by Mr Justice F. Miezah Anyimiah, that on May 4, 1999, the Odikro of Oforikrom, Nana Obuba, was quarrelling with his wife and the accused went to separate them. She said after a while, Okyere left them and went into his room and reappeared soon after with a pair of scissors and stabbed the Odikro in the left ribs.

Mrs Addo-Kyere said Nana Obuoba, who was rushed to the Akim Oda Government Hospital, died from the injuries he sustained from the stab.
