Koforidua, Dec. 25, GNA - A 33-year old farmer, Mawuli Elo, who is standing trial for threatening to kill, has been remanded by a Koforidua circuit court for another offence.
Mawuli, who threatened a nurse with cutlass earlier this year, had pleaded not guilty to charges of inducing a tenant to quit and offensive conduct and would re-appear in court on January 19.
Prosecuting Chief Inspector Eric Twum-Frimpong told the court presided over by Ms Wilhelmina Hammond that the complainant resides at Magazine, a suburb of Koforidua where the accused person also lives. He said about a year ago, the complainant's parents rented two single rooms from the accused and paid two years advance to him. The prosecutor said the accused claimed the tenancy expired on December 16, 2010.
He said at about 2300 hours on December 16, the accused picked quarrel with the complainant's sister and threatened to eject them by any means. The prosecutor said the accused then fetched human faeces and poured it on the veranda of the complainant to induce them to vacate the house. A report was made to the police where the accused was arrested and in his cautioned statement admitted the offence.
