Father remanded for attempting to murder his son

Tema, Jan. 25, GNA- A man, who allegedly attempted to murder his son for stealing his 200,000 cedis, on Tuesday appeared before a Magistrate Court in Tema, charged with attempted murder.

The plea of the accused, Alex Agyemale was not taken and the court, presided over by Mrs Jennifer Annie Myles adjourned the case to February 22, this year.

Meanwhile a duplicate docket on his case will be sent to the Attorney General's office for advice.

The facts of the case as presented by Chief Inspector Margaret Nunoo were that on January 15, this year around 1325 hrs, Police Patrol team in Tema had information that a boy had been tied and hung from a ceiling in a room at Community 12.

The team then went to the area and located the house where they heard screams from a room which was locked.

She said the Police forced the door open and found the boy in the room with the hands and legs tied behind him with a nylon rope whiles another suspended him from the ceiling of the room, making him dangling in the air.

The Police then took pictures of the nine year old boy, Bismark Agyemale who had bruises all over his body and stomach swollen, rescued him and took him to the community two Police station.

Police investigations later led to the arrest of the accused, Agyemale, who during the arrest told the Police that the boy stole his 200,000 cedis.
