Father, son killed in farm attack

Two persons, including a 16-year-old boy, have been killed while another relative remains missing following a deadly attack on a farm at Keri in the Nkwanta South Municipality of the Oti Region.

The deceased have been identified as 45-year-old Kofi Appiah and his son, Adom Emmanuel, 16.

According to a report by Adom Online on Sunday, June 14, the victims were working on their farm when they were attacked by unknown assailants.

A second son who was with them at the time has since gone missing, prompting ongoing search efforts by relatives and community members.

"The victims were working on their farm when they were attacked by unknown assailants," the report stated.

The bodies of Kofi Appiah and his son have been conveyed to the Nkwanta South Government Hospital mortuary for preservation and autopsy.

While the circumstances surrounding the attack remain unclear, residents and family members believe the incident may be linked to the protracted conflict affecting parts of the municipality.

The incident has heightened fears among residents, many of whom have expressed concern over growing insecurity in the area amid recurring tensions linked to the conflict.

Police have launched investigations into the killings and the disappearance of the third victim.

Authorities are expected to engage witnesses and members of the community as part of efforts to identify the perpetrators and establish the motive behind the attack.

Meanwhile, search efforts are continuing to locate the missing relative as investigators work to unravel the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
