Nana Yaw Sofehu, a fetish priest based at Kukurantumi, has denied police reports that he and four spiritualists had defrauded a number of people of huge sums of money under the pretext of helping them to become rich.

He also denied having been arrested by the Eastern Regional Police Command and said he was invited by the Regional Police to assist them to investigate a fraud case and was granted self-recognized bail.

He told a press conference that as a fetish priest, people consulted him with their illnesses and spiritual problems for solution.

Nana Sohenu said some time ago, three people consulted him for financial assistance and he asked them to provide certain items which they did and he performed the necessary rituals for them.

He said they left for their various destinations without any complaints.

He said he was a recognized fetish priest with the required license from the Traditional Medicine Council and the Ghana Phychic and Traditional Healers Association to practice in the country.

Nana Sohenu said he had travelled to various parts of the country and abroad to cure illnesses and solved spiritual problems for people and had not defrauded anyone.
