Four have been arrested in the drug trafficking raid by NACOC
The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has successfully raided Otinibi, a suburb of the Greater Accra Region, arresting four individuals suspected of drug trafficking and other illegal activities.
The operation, which took place in the early hours of Friday, September 19, 2025, targeted known drug dens and criminal hideouts.
According to a 3news.com report on September 19, 2025, NACOC officers seized significant quantities of illegal substances, including 2 kilograms of cannabis, and 1 kilogram each of hashish, and other hard drugs.
“The seized drugs have since been sent for forensic analysis as investigations continue into the criminal network operating in the area, which is reportedly notorious for a mix of brothels and drug activities,” the report said.

NACOC officials say the raid forms part of ongoing efforts to clamp down on drug trafficking and substance abuse across the country.
They stressed that intelligence-led operations would be intensified in other hotspots and urged the public to support law enforcement agencies by reporting suspicious activities.
The four suspects are currently in custody and are expected to be arraigned in court after initial investigations.
The Otinibi raid is the latest in a string of successful operations by NACOC.
On June 5, 2025, the commission arrested a sub-chief at Ankwa-Doboro in the Greater Accra Region for trading in narcotics.
The June operation was based on a tip-off which led to the seizure of large quantities of cannabis and other drugs.
Similarly, in May 2025, NACOC officers at Kotoka International Airport (KIA) arrested two British nationals and two Ghanaians for aiding and abetting drug trafficking.
