Assin Foso(C/R), Nov.23, GNA - Four food vendors who exposed fried fish they were selling to flies and dust were on Monday fined 800,000 cedis by an Assin Foso Magistrate Court.
The accused persons Abena Ampiaa, Yaa Yaa, Ekua Apia and Ekua Awur, pleaded guilty and were fined 200,000 cedis each or in default serve two months imprisonment.
The Court presided over by Mr Joseph Blay, ordered that the fried fish should be destroyed.
Prosecuting, Mr Charles Quainoo, Assin North District Environmental Officer, told the court that the accused persons were arrested at Assin-Brofoyedur in September this year, during routine inspection by health inspectors.
