The Takoradi Circuit Court “B” has remanded Robert Sackey, a fisherman, into police custody for allegedly defrauding Charles Okran, a steel bender to the tune of Ghc8700.

His plea was not taken and he is to re-appear on January 15, 2014.

Police Chief Inspector Yakubu Fusieni, told the court that on December 28, the complainant approached the accused person to confide in him his financial and general problems.

He said the accused after listening to the complainant, claimed he had a brother by name Etrum at Mankessim in the Central Region who could help him out with his problems.

Chief Inspector Fusiene said Etrum was then invited to Takoradi where he initially asked the complainant to buy a chop box and fill it with Ghc490 cedis.

Etrum after reciting some incantations, brought out a 100-dollar note from the chop box and told the complainant that the box was full of dollars, but needed a “Special Oil” to perform some rituals before he could claim the money and therefore directed him to one man at Winneba who asked him to bring Ghc3300 for the oil.

Chief Inspector Fusiene said the accused together with the complainant on their way back from Winneba heard some noise in the bottle and got it broken.

He said, Etrum now on the run, again asked the accused and the complainants to bring GH2,700 plus a goat for another bottle of oil which they did, but the bottle was also found to be empty the following day and when Etrum was contacted again he attributed it to poor handling.

He again demanded Ghc2000 to finalize the rituals, but this time, the complainant became suspicious and alerted the Police, who arrested the accused person.
