A 13-year-old girl, who was serially defiled by a 19-year-old apprentice electrician at East Legon, has died after she broke the news of her defilement, under duress to her aunt she was putting up with.

13-year-old Monica Adadzi after going through the ordeal at the hands of Donkor Kpormeda, told her aunt before her death that Donkor Kpormeda subjected her to two days of ?brutal? sex in his room, on April 14 and 15, but Kpormeda who is in prison custody, has denied the two consecutive days of sexual orgy with the girl and said the sex sessions took place on April 1 and 14.

The police have provisionally charged Kpormeda with defilement of an under-age and are waiting for autopsy report to know whether the death of the girl, was as result of the defilement, before a murder charge would be preferred against him.

The Greater Accra Police Public Affairs Office, Inspector Kweku Dompreh who briefed Daily Guide about the unfortunate incident, said Monica Adadzi lived with her aunt, Peace Atuboi, a petty trader at East Legon.

According to him, Peace Atuboi brought her niece, Monica from Jasikan in the Volta Region, where she also hails from to help her in her business, so that later she could assist her to learn a vocation.

Inspector Dompreh said on April 14 and 15, when Monica was sent on an errand, Donkor Kpormeda who lives in the same area with Peace, lured Monica into his room and forcibly had sex with her.

Donkor Kpormeda, 19, who hails from Dorkpor in the Volta Region, repeated the act on the second day the girl was running an errand.

According to Inspector Dompreh, three days after the act, Monica?s aunt detected that Monica was walking strangely and behaved like somebody who was in great pain, but when the girl was questioned she repeatedly refused to tell her aunt of the ordeal she had gone through.

As an elderly person and knowing very well that Monica was going through pain, the aunt, threatened her that if she did not speak the truth she would douche her with ginger and pepper. This, according to Inspector Dompreh, compelled Monica to tell her aunt that she had been defiled by somebody in the area on the 14 and 15 of this month.

Inspector Dompreh said her aunt quickly reported the case to the East Legon Police, and a medical report given to her to take her niece to the hospital. Before Monica was taken to the hospital she led the police to the area where the defilement took place and identified Donkor Kpormeda as the culprit. When Donkor Kpormeda was arrested, he admitted the offence and wrote in his cautioned statement that the sex ordeals took place on April 1 and 14. She was reported dead on April 19 at the polyclinic.
