Cape Coast, Aug 16, GNA - A gong-gong beater from Ayeldu who disobeyed the orders of the District Security Council (DSEC) and the Omanhene of the Kwamankesse Traditional Area, Nana Idan Andoh, not to beat a gong-gong again was on Tuesday granted 10 million cedis bail with a surety to be justified by a circuit court in Cape Coast.

Yaw Yeboah, who pleaded not guilty to drumming with the intent to challenge or to insult, would reappear on August 30.

Prosecuting, Inspector Ben Owuah told the court that for sometime now Yeboah has been challenging the authority of the chief by counter beating a gong-gong anytime the chief asked that a gong-gong should be beaten.

The District Security Council and the chief banned him from beating a gong-gong in the town again but on August 05 he repeated the act by counter beating a gong-gong to challenge the chief. The Omanhene reported Yeboah's conduct to the police and he was arrested.
