Gunmen kills teacher in Sunyani

Sunyani (B/A), March 24, GNA - A 60-year-old teacher was murdered in cold blood by some unidentified gunmen last Friday at North Nkwabeng in the Sunyani Municipality. Ms Alice Nimo, a teacher at the Stadium Primary Junior High School in Sunyani was shot at her left breast at close range and the body had since been deposited at the Sunyani Municipal Hospital pending autopsy. Superintendent of Police Charles Botwe, Municipal Police Commander, told the Ghana News Agency in an interview that the deceased stayed with her 10 year-old grand daughter at North Nkwabeng . Supt. Botwe said the deceased grand daughter heard a gun shot and came out from her room to find out what had happened. He said the grand daughter saw three young men, two in mask and wielding guns.

The girl who sensed danger scaled the wall and informed her neighbours about the incident. Supt. Botwe said the neighbours came to the house to see the teacher lying dead in a pool of blood, while the assailants had escaped.
