Charles Otu Fiagbenyo, 48 - year- old farmer of Agona Nsaba and customer of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) who illegally supplied power to five houses has been remanded in prison.

Fiagbenyo pleaded guilty to two counts of illegal connection and stealing custody before an Agona Swedru Circuit Court and would reappear on November 11, for sentencing.

Prosecuting, Police Inspector Maxwell Yaw Boadu, told the court presided over by Madam Abigail Animah Asare, that Fiagbenyo connected the power from a source, which could not be recorded by the ECG.

The prosecution said Fiagbenyo was arrested by a team of officials of the ECG from Agona Swedru on August 19, when the offence was detected during inspection.

He was later handed over to the Agona Swedru police for further investigations.

According to Inspector Boadu, Fiagbenyo admitted having collected illegal light bills totalling GH¢150.00 and used the money to pay his outstanding light bill.

Fiagbenyo pleaded with the presiding judge, Madam Abigail Animah Asare, to kindly take into consideration the fate of his six children when pronouncing judgment.
