Kumasi, Nov. 19, GNA - Security personnel at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) have arrested and handed over to the police three suspected armed robbers believed to be operating in the university campus in recent times. The suspects include Anabode Asaah alias Dada, David Ateso and Anoyeta Ayegere.

Briefing the Ghana News Agency in Kumasi on the arrests, Captain Moses Gedzah (rtd), Deputy Head of Security of the University, said the suspects were arrested at the weekend at different places on the campus after they were found to be loitering. He said when the security personnel confronted the suspects, Ateso and Ayegere took to their heels leaving behind Asaah who was apprehended.

Capt Gedzah said the two were later arrested at the Ring Road on the campus after they were found to be smoking Indian hemp and were consequently handed over to the police. He stressed that four students of the University had so far identified the suspects as those who attacked and robbed them at knife-point of unspecified amounts of money and some personal valuables.
