Kasoa residents frightened by state of insecurity

Residents of Kasoa say the incessant robbery cases in the area is causing fear and panic amongst them.

The President of the Concerned Residents of Kasoa, Amadu Tourik attributes the cases of armed robbery to foreign nationals living within the community.

According to him, most of these people do not have recognised jobs but live very expensive lifestyles, a situation he believes serves as motivation for them to embark on such attacks.

Recently a mobile money vendor was robbed at home and his brother killed in the process while in a separate incident, GHC25,000 worth of credit and two phones were carried away from a mobile money agent.

Narrating their ordeal to JoyNews correspondents, the victims noted that they have been traumatised.

The attacks according to residents are mainly concentrated in Akweley and Bigman town appealed to government and city authority to be proactive in apprehending these criminals as some of them are known within the vicinity

They also urge the government to as a matter of urgency construct the road network within Kasoa as the terrible nature of the roads makes it difficult for police patrol to access in time some areas in Kasoa
