The Kumasi Central Police Station had commenced investigations into circumstances which led to the assault of an activist of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), at the studios of Kessben FM on Saturday evening.
Mr. Fuseini Donkor, the activist, sustained injuries in his neck and arm after he was allegedly hit with a chair by one Hopson Adoye, an activist of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), during disagreement over a political issue.
After the incident, Mr. Donkor was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) where was admitted for treatment.
The two, according a police source, were invited by the station to represent their various parties on its programme dubbed “Democracy” which aims to give opportunity to political parties to deliberate on issues affecting the nation.
The source told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Kumasi that, the Central Police Station had mounted a manhunt for the NPP activist as he was no where to be found.
It said Mr. Donkor, was discharged on Sunday morning after spending the night at the KATH.
