Leadership of two youth camps apprehended in Wa over recent brawls

Leadership of the two rivalry youth Camps, Jamaica Youth and Z-Town Boys all in the Wa Municipality of the Upper West region have been apprehended and detained by the Upper West Regional police.

This was done by combine taskforce of military and police in the regional capital.

Meanwhile, another person believed to be the younger brother of the Vice president of Jamaica Youth, Alhassan Sisqo has been butchered by unknown persons suspected to have link with the Z-Town Boys Sunday afternoon after he and his friend were ambushed on a motorbike.

This took place around the controller filing station at Dondonli a suburb of Wa. The victim has been admitted at the Wa Regional Hospital.

One person was earlier shot and others sustaining various degrees of cutlass wounds in a deadly clash between the two rival youth groups, namely, Jamaica Youth and Z- Town all in Wa, the regional capital of the Upper West Region.

The incident happened on Friday, November 2, 2018.

According to an Eyewitness, the two rival groups engaged in the cutlass fight on Friday night at about 8pm after some two members of the Jamaica youth camp, Ahmed Malik popularly known as Abinchi and Mohammed Abdul who were on a motor bike riding through the Zongo street got attacked by the Z-town boys leading to the assault of Ahmed Malik (Abinche).

When the message reached the Jamaica youth camp, they equipped themselves and unleashed a reprisal attack on the Z-town camp leading to many sustaining cutlass wounds and one was subsequently shot but was rushed to the Wa regional hospital where he and the other injured persons, all members of the two groups are currently responding to treatment.

The Deputy Upper West Regional Police Commander, ACP Peter A. Ndekugri when contacted confirmed the incident and has vowed to go after the suspects who inflicted multiple cutlass wounds on each other.

However, Sunday's move taken by the joint police-military force in arresting the leadership of the two camps was in fulfilment of the Deputy Upper West Regional police commander, ACP Peter Ndekugri assurance. Sources close to the police command disclosed to myradiowaa.com that, a search has been mounted in the residence of leadership of the two camps.

The President of the Jamaica youth, Alhaji Iddrisu Abdulai known as Hajj Wan, Vice president of the Jamaica youth, Sisqo and one other person all from Jamaica youth camp alongside the Leader of the Z-town boys Ray Sualih known as Ray Parker have been detained in the police custody to aid police investigation.
