A Cape Coast Magistrate’s court on Monday remanded into prison custody Emmanuel Mborah, a Point Officer of the Metro Mass Transit (MMT) for allegedly hitting one Steven Tang with the stem of an umbrella which resulted in his death in Cape Coast.

Mborah’s plea was not taken and he is to reappear on Monday July 30.

Prosecuting, Inspector Samuel Amoako told the court presided over by Mr. Ohemeng Mensah, that on June 02, at about 16:00 hours the suspect was on duty at the MMT at chapel square in cape coast.

He said the deceased, who saw a mini bus approaching the station rushed to the vehicle to load passengers on it but Mborah on seeing the actions of the deceased told him not to load any car at their station and that resulted in a misunderstanding between the two.

He said Tang’s action infuriated Mborah and he picked the stem of an MTN umbrella and hit the deceased on his ribs making him collapse and was rushed to the Metropolitan Hospital.

Inspector Amoako said the deceased died on the third day whiles on admission at the hospital and Mborah was later arrested.**
