Goaso (B/A), Aug. 18, GNA- The ingenuity of a farmer led to the arrest and imprisonment of a 19-year-old man for 18 months by Goaso circuit court for stealing plantain, worth 40,000 cedis from his farm. Kwame Bobie pleaded guilty.
Prosecuting, Inspector S. Amoah said Mr Alex Nyari, the farmer, last July detected that someone had been stealing plantain from his farm. He therefore marked bunches of plantain on the farm with red oil paint. On August 10, this year he found the accused selling some bunches of plantain at Kukuom.
The prosecutor said when Mr Nyari closely inspected the plantain he found the red marks on the farm produce and when he confronted Bobie, he told him that the plantain belonged to his father, Mr. Akwasi Agyemang. But when Mr Agyemang questioned he denied knowledge of the plantain.
