Man arrested for allegedly killing an 80-year-old man who was dating his fiancée

A young man by the name of Kwabena Badu has allegedly killed an 80-year-old farmer, Kwesi Arhin, after allegedly accusing him of having an affair with his fiancée.

The unfortunate incident occurred at Assin Otabilkrom in Assin South District, Central Region, on Thursday, May 30, 2024.

Details emerging indicate that the suspect stormed the residence of the 80-year-old man to confront him over the matter.

It has also emerged that the woman, Ekua Ansama, whom the suspect was dating, visited the deceased to spend the night.

Rainbowradioonline.com gathered that Kwabena Badu allegedly attacked and beat Kwesi Arhin with stones and a stick until he reportedly died.

The grandson of the deceased, Emmanuel Arhin, explained that he advised his grandfather to stop chasing after the woman following threats he received from the suspect.

He indicated that the suspect had multiple times threatened to kill his grandfather if he did not stop having an affair with his fiancée.

He further disclosed that they reported the incident to the police command, and the mortal remains of his grandfather, Kwesi Arhin, have been deposited in Abura Dunkaw District Hospital pending further investigation.

Meanwhile, Ekua Ansama’s mother, Maame Ama Tawaiah, stated that the two were not customarily married to their daughter.

However, the family was aware that Kwesi Arhin had been having an affair with her for over eight years until his unfortunate death.

She said the suspect recently came into the picture and had been threatening to kill anyone who would have an affair with Ekua Ansama.

Some residents have also slammed the young woman, accusing her of going after men who had money.

They claimed that if soemeone expressed interest in her and the person wasn't wealthy or had enough money, she would not accept the proposal.

The suspect, who fled after the alleged crime, has been arrested and is currently in the custody of the police.
