Man arrested in possession of missing EC verification device

A man called Yaw Koranteng has been arrested by the Ghana Police Service at Nsawam in the Eastern Region for possessing a device suspected to belong to the Electoral Commission of Ghana.

Yaw Koranteng is currently in police custody helping with investigations, myjoyonline.com reports.

This information was revealed in a press release on August 23, 2024, the report added.

However, the police stated that they had notified the EC of the arrest and invited them to identify whether the device belonged to them.

The police also expressed gratitude to the public for their cooperation that led to this arrest.

"As the investigation into this incident continues, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all stakeholders for their continuous support to ensure security, law and order during this election period and beyond," the police reportedly said.
